Niki & Chris | VT Engagement

Please help me in welcoming one of LDC & Co.'s newest 2017 couples!

I hope you are ready to hear all about one of the sweetest couples I've ever seen: Nicole and Chris.

Everyone is a sucker for a love story, and this couple's history is totally adorbs. Niki told me all about how Chris and she met:

We met online! Chris messaged me asking what to do with what is now our powder bathroom, he didn't want to get rid of the hunting camp wallpaper or framed holographic wolf & eagle portrait but wanted to class it up (and cover up a hole in the wall). (Niki is a kitchen remodeler). I said easy, crown molding, a little bit of wainscoting, and maybe a nicer frame for the picture. From there we hit it off and after our first date we couldn't stay away from each other... I think we went on 3 or 4 dates within the first week even though we lived an hour apart!

She also filled me in on the proposal.

For our 1 year anniversary we rode Chris's motorcycle up Mount Equinox on the scenic drive, hiked out to this great lookout, and had a picnic! After we ate we looked out at the view and our home, talked about our life and our future. It was really a great moment - then Chris got down on one knee and asked Niki to spend the rest of their lives together. Of course, she said Y-E-S! and cried all of the happy tears. (I may have interrupted him saying yes!...) He popped the question with loose diamonds too and said, "It's not a ring yet, but I kinda thought you'd want to pick it out" - he knows me so well!

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE THIS!

Their wedding date is set for Saturday, September 16, 2017 (which is LDC's dad's birthday so it is guaranteed to be a great wedding!) They will be getting married at the beautiful Dorset Church, and their reception will follow across the street at the Dorset Field Club in Dorset, Vermont

We are absolutely SWOONING over the style of the wedding - the idea is for it to feel super classic and sophisticated! The couple want to be able to look back 50 years from now with their grandkids and not hate the bride's hair or lament her trendy dress so they tried to keep everything very timeless. There is a bit of a 60's vibe but it's very polished. The couple sort of went the opposite way of a typical Vermont wedding that feels more bohemian!

WE ARE ALL ABOUT UNIQUE TOUCHES! A wedding should be all about making it your own and not trying to replicate what you have seen on Pinterest or at a friend's wedding.

The couple is MOST excited to become Mr. & Mrs. Conte of course but they have more specific details they are looking forward to as well. Niki is really excited about the dress right now since she just said yes to the dress, but overall she thinks she is most pumped about the details that reflect the couple's personality. For example, they are making homemade applesauce for the favors since that was one of the first things they made together when they were first dating. Half of the apples are from Vermont and the other half are from New Hampshire just like the couple! Niki also decided to incorporate olive branches in a big way in the floral arrangements as a nod to Chris's Italian heritage and the food will have a very Mediterranean vibe.

GAH LOVE IT!!!!

They're not just excited about the details, though. They're also excited to spend the rest of their lives together. It's so clear that this couple is head-over-heels for each other! Just check out the pictures if you don't believe me!
