Rustic Boho Wedding | NH Wedding Planners | Alyssa & Bob

Stonewall Farm Wedding | June 4, 2016

Stonewall Farm | Keene, NH

I am honored to announce Alyssa and Bob’s marriage on the blog today. These two have known each other for over 16 years when they met in middle school! As many of their friends and family mentioned, "It's about damn time!" :) As for the proposal, Bob popped the question while vacationing in Tucson during a Gogol Bordello concert.

The wedding was truly special and reflected their personalities very well with the vibrant boho theme. Alyssa's lace gown with a champagne underlay was just stunning. Although it was not the original dress she had fallen in love with, she felt like a princess. Due to a substantial weight loss (ROCK ON GIRLFRIEND!), Alyssa was met with the task of trying to find a new dress that she loved as much as her initial dress. She knew she had picked the right dress when she walked out of the dressing room and saw her body's new shape and curves for the first time.

The wedding was held on June 4, 2016 at Stonewall Farm in Keene, New Hampshire. We absolutely adore this venue because it is in a unique rustic setting and boasts a one of a kind post and beam building (with a thirty foot tall field-stone fireplace!!) to host a reception. The stone patio surrounded by blossoming flowers and twinkling lights was the perfect place to host Alyssa and Bob's cocktail hour.

Their reception was also pretty wonderful since they were surrounded by their closest family and  friends. "The overall wedding experience was unique to our love story. Where some people would say we did it wrong by having a child before getting married, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way," said Alyssa when asked how she would describe her experience. In addition, this beautiful family's favorite moment during the wedding was when they "tied the knot" and were fastened together as a family.

After enjoying an elegant BBQ meal including pulled pork sundaes, BBQ chicken, farm fresh sides, and a vegetarian option of wild mushroom ravioli in a pesto cream sauce, the couple cut their cake and guests were able to choose from three delicious cupcake choices: Raspberry Chambord, Tiramisu, Peanut Butter with a Honey Cashew Drizzle.

When asked how their experience was when working with LDC & Co. to help plan and execute the wedding, Alyssa simply replied, "Amazing. Lauren was constantly keeping us on task and making sure things were getting accomplished. She was always offering to help and find out what we needed done. She was warm and down to earth - talking with her was like chatting with one of your girlfriends."

Alyssa's Wedding Planning Advice to Future Brides:

  1. Hire LDC from day one of planning. Unfortunately, we didn't find Lauren until we were just a few months out from the big day. Her skills for turning your wedding vision into reality are unbelievable - she's truly a genius.
  2. Don't go DYI crazy. I think Lauren says it in the welcome package you receive when you book her services but Pinterest can be both your best friend and your biggest enemy. I found myself falling in love with so much on Pinterest and not having the time to finish projects because life obviously doesn't stop just because your getting married. Don't get lost in the dream of it and make sure that your ideas are practical and in your budget.

Alyssa's List of What to Pack on Your Wedding Day:

  1. Lip gloss
  2. Mints
  3. Tissues
  4. Hemming tape! (My dress wasn't altered correctly and I ended up having a friend and a few family members create a make-shift-bustle).

What the Couple Would Have Done Differently:

Hired Lauren from day one to help create the vision with more ease. She's truly a genius when it comes to making your vision reality and once she has your input follows through 120%. Lauren went above and beyond to make sure that there was enough decor and literally pulled things out of thin air to make our venue truly special and unique to us.

Wish you could have been there, too, blog readers! At least you can live vicariously through the pictures!
